Dr Li Wang
BM, MMedSci, PhD, Dip Obstetrics & Medical Gynaecology, FRNZCGP
Dr Li Wang Dr Li completed his medical degree in China before undertaking a Master of Medical Science at Peking University and a PhD in Pathology at the University of Auckland. He later completed a Diploma in Obstetrics and Medical Gynaecology in 2019 and obtained his Fellowship with the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners in 2024.
Li enjoys the full breadth of General Practice and has particular interests in women’s health(worked as an Obs&Gynae registrar for two years), acute care(worked in urgent care centre for 6 years), and chronic disease prevention and management. He values the opportunity to integrate knowledge from multiple medical disciplines to provide holistic, patient‑centred care.
He is passionate about building long‑term relationships with his patients and finds great satisfaction in supporting early detection, prevention, and timely management of health conditions.
Outside of work, Li spends most of his time with his two children. He also enjoys reading, tramping, swimming, and playing basketball.
Dr Tasmia Haque
Dr Tasmia Haque is an Australian GP Registrar currently undertaking specialist training in General Practice. Dr Haque is registered with AHPRA and is enrolled in the [RACGP/AGPT] training program. Dr Haque gained her initial experience and registration in Queensland and then moved to Victoria and since worked with Monash health, Western health with different medicine rotations.
Dr Haque has gained broad clinical experience through hospital and general practice rotations, managing a wide range of acute and chronic conditions across all age groups. Notably, she spent significant time as a Junior Doctor working as an ED Registrar at Western Health (both adult and paediatric emergency) where she developed a strong background in acute medicine and emergency care. In addition to her emergency expertise, Dr Haque has extensive experience managing chronic conditions and possesses a robust foundation in internal medicine including geriatrics. She has a developing interest in preventative health, chronic disease management, and holistic patient care. Dr Tasmia Haque is committed to delivering safe, evidence-based, and patient-centred care, and values continuity of care and collaboration within multidisciplinary healthcare teams. She is enthusiastic about ongoing learning and professional development throughout her GP training. Outside practice hours, Tasmia loves to travel, try different cuisines and spending lazy time with her family specially seeing animated series with her only daughter.
Dr Rajinder Bhardwaj
MRCGP
Dr Rajinder Bhardwaj is a UK-trained General Practitioner who holds Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP). Prior to relocating to Australia, he practised as a GP in the United Kingdom and gained valuable experience in child health across both the UK and India.
He enjoys all aspects of general practice and is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care for individuals and families at every stage of life.
He is fluent in English, Hindi and Punjabi. He works full time and is welcoming new patients.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing chess and watching cricket.
He will conduct his practice from Health e Medical.
Dr Rajesh Khatri
MBBS, MRCGP, MRCEM, DIP MSK
Dr Rajesh Khatri completed medical degree in 2006. During his 20 years of clinical experience he has worked as a medical doctor in Pakistan, Maldives, UAE and UK before moving to Australia.
Dr Khatri is a UK trained GP with MRCGP (2023), who obtained his postgraduate qualifications in Emergency Medicine (MRCEM 2017) and Diploma in Musculoskeletal Medicine (DipMSK 2021).
His clinical background includes a wide scope of General Practice complemented by significant experience in Emergency Medicine, musculoskeletal and sports related conditions, preventative care, paediatrics, dermatology, minor surgical procedures and mental health.
A proud father of a son and two daughters, he enjoys yoga, reading and music in his spare time.
Dr Rajesh Khatri is fluent in English, Hindi, Urdu and Sindhi.
Dr Eric Lagleva
MD, FRACGP
Dr. Erick completed his medical degree in the Philippines before moving to Australia. He began his career as a junior doctor in 2017, across multiple hospitals in Queensland, then moved to Victoria in 2021. He went on to spend most of his junior doctor years working as an Internal Medicine/General Medicine Registrar, gaining extensive experience in managing complex and chronic medical conditions.
With a strong background in internal medicine, Dr. Erick has developed particular interest in geriatric medicine, rehabilitation medicine, and palliative care. He is passionate about providing compassionate, patient-centred care and supporting individuals and families through all stages of health.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Erick enjoys staying active and is recently developing a strong interest in fitness – particularly running and Hyrox. He values the balance that physical wellbeing brings to both his personal life and clinical practice.

Dr Modise Modise
MBBS, B Med Sc, FRACGP
Dr. Modise graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2006. Commencing a career as a GP in 2013 after several years in hospital medicine, they find fulfilment in a broad range of medical disciplines, including chronic disease management, travel medicine, emergency preparations, paediatric care, and mental health.
The appeal of working in General Practice attracted Dr. Modise, presenting an opportunity to establish connections with patients and their families. This enables the provision of a holistic approach to healthcare within the community.
Residing in Geelong with their family, including a spouse and three daughters, Dr. Modise is dedicated to fostering well-being and building lasting relationships within the local community.
Dr. Modise is now taking on new patients.
Dr Michael Carroll
MBBS, FRACGP, Dip OBS, RACOG
Dr Michael Carroll graduated from Melbourne University in 1987. He commenced work at Geelong Hospital in 1988 and worked in Western Australia and South Australia from 1990 – 1995 whereupon he returned to Geelong. He completed Diploma of Obstetrics in 1992 and Fellowship of RACGP in 1993.
Dr Carroll is a GP registrar supervisor with the RACGP and has been an examiner for the RACGP in the past.
Dr Alison Maiden
BMBS, FRACGP
Dr Alison Maiden graduated from Flinders University in 1996. Alison has worked in the Geelong region as a General Practitioner since 2001 with a special interest in Women’s Health, Paediatrics, Adolescent health and minor procedures.
Dr Bahgat Bassili
MB, CHB, BSC , FRACGP
Dr. Bahgat Bassili graduated from Cairo University in 1985 and immigrated to Australia in 1990 to be with his family. He has worked in Darwin, Dubbo, and Swan Hill, gaining experience in Accident and Emergency medicine, as well as general practice.
Recently relocating from Portland, Dr. Bassili is happily settled in Geelong with his wife and children.
He has a special interest in Paediatrics and preventive medicine. Dr. Bassili has been a full-time general practitioner in Australia since 2000 and has obtained his FRACGP.

Dr Paul Hingston
MBBS, FRACGP
Dr Hingston studied medicine at Monash University and later attained FRACGP in 2006. He has worked predominantly in country Victoria – Ballarat, Echuca and Bendigo – both as hospital-employed doctor and general practitioner.
Dr Alice Crowley
CWH, SCHP, MBBS, FRACGP
Alice grew up in Geelong and completed her medical degree at Deakin University. Alice then did her General Practitioner training in Byron Bay and the Southern Gold Coast. She returned to Geelong to be closer to her family.
Alice has a special interest in Women’s Health, Adolescent Health and Paediatrics. Alice is a member of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and in addition has completed her Certificate of Women’s Health and is trained in IUD insertion. Alice is passionate about Women’s Health and can provide expert care in all areas such as contraception, family planning, pregnancy care and post partum care. She is accredited to provide shared antenatal care to new and existing patients.
When Alice is not working she loves to spend time outdoors with her family and can be found running and walking around the Barwon River or at the beach.

Dr Deepa Venugopal
MBBS, FRACGP
Deepa grew up in Malaysia and pursued her Medical Degree through a twinning program in India and Malaysia. She completed her Medical Degree at the Melaka Manipal Medical College and has a keen interest in all areas of General Practice.
As a mother of three boys, she dedicates time to her family and enjoys cooking and traveling.
Currently, Deepa is available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Dr John Newman
MBBS, FRACGP
Dr John Newman has been a GP in Geelong for over 30 years and has been at Healthe Medical since 2007. John moved to Geelong to complete his hospital training at The Geelong Hospital and then complete his General Practice training at multiple towns across Victoria.
He enjoys all aspects of family-centred general practice and continues to provide aged care services at several aged care facilities. He performs minor skin procedures and is looking forward to helping train the next generation of general practitioners through Healthe Medical. When not at work you will usually find him in the bush searching for wildlife and plants and walking the family dog.
Dr Newman is a registrar supervisor with the RACGP.
Nurses
The Registered Division 1 Nurses run the treatment area of the Practice and assist the doctors.
The nurses have up-to-date skills across all the day to day activities and duties involved with the requirements of general practice, including administering immunisations in Geelong.
Appointments for care plans, home health checks and for specific medical conditions are required with both the nurse and doctor.
