Health E Medical Centre are running covid vaccination clinics for 5 – 11 year olds, Monday to Friday with appointments available morning or afternoon, so that second doses will be able to be administered before or after school hours.
Children aged 5 – 11 will receive the Pfizer vaccine, which will be a smaller dose specifically created for their age group.
The recommended schedule for this age group is 2 doses given 8 weeks apart. The interval can be shortened to a minimum of 3 weeks apart in special circumstances e.g. before they commence significant immunosuppression, or before international travel.
* Third doses are only recommended for people aged 18 years and over at this time.

Please prepare your child for their vaccination by:
Speaking positively about the experience, if they have a needle phobia please advise staff.
Have your child wear a T shirt or easy access clothes to avoid longer than necessary in preparation for the vaccine.
Parental assistance is required for gentle restraint of children where the child is resistant to receiving the vaccine(consent is assumed with your cooperation)
If your child is unwell with flu-like symptoms, they will not be able to receive the vaccine – please call to reschedule your appointment
